I’ve always liked dinosaurs and was looking for a small dinosaur project to work on. When I couldn’t find one I decided to try to come up with one of my own. The outcome was this dyno-mini design. Hope you all enjoy the pattern.
Materials
2.2 mm crochet hook
Fine or superfine yarn in color of choice
(For larger dinosaur can substitute a 3mm crochet hook and worsted weight yarn)
2 black 1/8 inch black brads (for eyes)
2 pink 1/8 black brads (for cheeks)
black embroidery yarn for nose slits and mouth
emboridery yarn in color of choice for back plates
White felt cut into small triangles for teeth
Polyfil stuffing
Abbreviations
sc – Single crochet
inc – increase
dec – decrease
dc – double crochet
slst – slip stitch
Head
R1: 6 sc in Magic Ring. (6 sts)
R2: Inc, rep 6 times. (12 sts)
R3: *Sc 1, inc*, rep 6 times. (18 sts)
R4: *Sc 2, inc*, rep 6 times. (24 sts)
R5: *Sc 3, inc*, rep 6 times. (30 sts)
R6-9: Sc 30.
R10: *Sc 3, dec 1* rep 6 times. (24 sts)
R11: *Sc 2, dec 1*, rep 6 times. (18 sts)
Place eyes towards bottom half of head. Begin stuffing head.
Place pink brads for the cheeks if desired. Can also use pink felt
R12: *Sc 1, dec 1*, rep 6 times. (12 sts)
Continue stuffing head firmly.
R13: *Dec 1*, rep 6 times. (6 sts)
Fasten off and weave in end.
Body
R1: 6 sc in Magic Ring. (6 sts)
R2: Inc, rep 6 times. (12 sts)
R3: *Sc 1, inc*, rep 6 times. (18 sts)
R4: *Sc 2, inc*, rep 6 times. (24 sts)
R5-8: Sc 24.
R9: *Sc 2, dec 1*, rep 6 times. (18 sts)
R10: Sc 18.
R11: *Sc 1, dec 1*, rep 6 times. (12 sts)
R12: Sc 12.
Leave long tail for sewing.
Arms (Make 2)
R1: 5 sc in Magic Ring. (5 sts)
R2-4: Sc 5.
Leave long tail for sewing.
Legs (Make 2)
R1: 6 sc in Magic Ring. (6 sts)
R2-5: Sc 6.
Leave long tail for sewing.
Tail
R1: 4 sc in Magic Ring. (4 sts)
R2: *Sc 1, inc*, rep 2 (6 sts)
R3: *Sc 2, inc*, rep 2 (8 sts)
R4: *Sc 3, inc*, rep 2 (10 sts)
R5-6: Sc 10
Leave long tail for sewing.
Assemble and sew on mouth and nose slits using black embroidery yarn
Sew or glue on teeth.
Back Plates
Using embroidery yarn
Chain a string long enough to run from the head to tail +3 sc
*Dc 3 into the same st, sl st into the next st* repeat the length of the chain
Bind off and leave tail for sewing.
Sew onto dinosaur

I’ve tried this on dolls before and it will work but tends to fray.
