TinkerbellWhen my god daughters asked me to make them some dolls I immediately knew I wanted to make something from one of the Disney movies. There are a few specific characters they especially love and Tinkerbell is one of them.  It seemed like the obvious choice since I had all the right colored yarn left.

My favorite yarn for making dolls is Lily’s Sugar and Cream cotton yarn in Camomile.  It’s from a line that also is scented so smells especially good.  The yarn is stiff if you use a small hook so the dolls hold their shapes well.  I used this yarn for the head and limbs.

crochet_tinkerbellUsing a 2.5mm hook and 12mm safety eyes Tinkerbell finally started to take some shape. After getting the base done I wove in her hair with Impeccable yarn in butterscotch.Impeccable yarn is not my favorite for crochet but I do love it for doll hair.

I love adding little details to my dolls so I knew I had to make her little foot pom poms and figure out a unique way of giving her wings and sparkle.  I decided on using some leftover tulle that I had to give her wings a delicate look.

Sorry no pattern at the moment but I hope you enjoy a look into one of my projects.
